Southeast Asian Exports Seen Surging Through 2030

An increasing number of companies are shifting their production or business operations to avoid tariffs and trade barriers, which could lead to a significant boost in exports from Southeast Asian countries over the next six years.

A Nomura report highlights that India, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Mexico are the main beneficiaries of this shift, driven by US-China trade tensions and efforts to diversify supply chains. However, complete disengagement from China remains challenging due to ongoing reliance on Chinese intermediate goods, and there are concerns about trade fragmentation as geopolitical alignments shift.
