Asia port snarls spread with ship delays looking to last into August

Port congestion in some of Asia’s busiest trade hubs may continue into August as ships divert from the most congested ports, causing bottlenecks at others. Singapore, the world's busiest transhipment centre, has been experiencing long lines of vessels due to ships avoiding Houthi attacks in the Red Sea and processing more cargo through fewer Asian ports. This has led to increased congestion in other ports like Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia, although the overall situation has slightly improved since mid-June, with resolution expected to take at least another month.
